The Hidden bridge set of moss paintings made from real lichen are set in handmade frames with a "shabby and distressed" look. The effect is created using pigmented resin, which also gives them a luxurious shine.

Caring for the moss painting

Even though the moss image contains true moss and/or lichen, is not watered. The moss is specially treated and mummified. The painting should be placed in a room with a temperature of 5-30 degrees and a humidity of 40-60% (humidity in this range is very important, a humidifier can provide it and you will appreciate it). It does not thrive in direct sunlight (it is not UV resistant) or in close proximity to radiators, fireplaces or air conditioners. Otherwise very low maintenance. You can hang it even in a completely dark corner.

Painting you can easily get rid of dust with a hairdryer set to a low temperature (cold drying). You can then wipe the frame with a damp cloth.

If handled correctly, the mech paintings retain their beauty for about 10 years.

Each painting from the Unique category produced in the workshop of WOODILO is a complete original that can only be purchased in one single design. It bears its name and presents a certain storyline, nature or feeling, just like in the classical paintings.

Used moss / lichen

We value nature, so we only process mosses and lichens purchased from suppliers who grow them for this purpose in their own forests. We do not process any of the protected species and do not "rob" nature.

In most of the paintings it is Reindeer Hair - a shrubby lichen of light colour, which is dyed with natural dye for a more distinctive look.

The moss or lichen is loaded with a natural preservative and "dried". The moisture contained in the plant is replaced by a degradable preservative that helps the plant maintain its natural appearance. The painting or decoration may have a slight specific smell for a few days, which will wear off.

Neither lichen nor moss will grow further. It is not possible to plant them for multiplication.
